Well known TV actress Parakh Madan is known for her memorable roles in TV shows such as Ekta Kapoor’s hit show ‘Bade ache lagte hain’, ‘Sapne suhane ladakpan ke’ and ‘Ek boond Ishq’ among many others. She has been a recurring face on Indian television from quite some time and the audience knows her face well. After starring in various successful shows, Parakh almost disappeared from the silver screen for a considerable of time due to some unfortunate medical conditions. She took some time off from acting and looked after herself off screen.
However, after taking a long and much needed break from television due to her health issues, the actress is all set to make a comeback on television with a brand new show called Qurbaan Hua which will air on Zee TV.
In a recent interview Parakh got candid with the media and spoke about her comeback, health and future of Indian television in detail.
When asked about the nature of her medical condition and health issues, the actress said, “I was suffering from a condition which in medical terms is called FUO (Fever of Unknown Origin). For two years, I underwent every possible test and scan, and nothing was diagnosed. So I suffered in the dark without any hope, without any solution. It was a terrible time in my life. Suffering from an undiagnosed illness is no joke. But with the support of my family and the power of my will, I fought it and triumphed. The only way it affected me was that it made me mentally strong”
Parakh kept away from the screens owing to her illness but now she will be seen playing a negative role in the new show.
Qurbaan Hua is a Hindi drama television show which is broadcasted on Zee TV in a prime time slot. It is produced by Full House Media of Sonali Jaffer and Amir. The show also stars Karan Jotwani, Pratibha Ranta and Sonali Nikam.
When asked about her upcoming role in the show Parakh explained,
“My character in simple words, is that of an evil stepmom. She is vain, cunning and jealous of her own daughter, and will go to any lengths to keep her away from the family.” Since some time it has been seen that the Indian television is trying to adapt to more diverse settings and Muslim community is finally getting more representation on the small screen. When asked to comment about this gradual shift, the actress said, “We are a country of diversity. We need to cater to all audiences equally. I think that’s one of the reasons why such shows are being accepted and applauded.”
The actress has high hopes from her latest role and the TV show in general which has been getting good ratings from some time. We hope that Parakh Madan will now be seen more on the small screen in the future.
